A prime example of tradition being something seriously hip and cool in Leavenworth, this building draws inspiration from traditional Bauernhaus designs of Southern Germany and Austria. Initially considered an improbable site, it evolved into downtown's prime real estate, defying expectations. Our role was designing a great investment in the form of a shell and core building for the developer to attract prime tenants in one of the best locations in town.

Currently home to the Rhein Haus restaurant on upper floors (on grade with Highway 2) the lower level facing Front Street hosts a vibrant array of local shops including Whistlepunk Ice Cream Co., J5 Coffee, A Book For All Seasons and the Millbrandt wine tasting bar.

Assuming that the top floor would house a restaurant tenant, it was our goal to create the potential for the scene: a perch above town to people-watch, be with friends and spend special time with family.
